Cold Bent Shattered Glass (CBST)
This
process allows for the bending of the shattered glass laminates, made from tempered
glass, at room temperature. The product can be bent on site around existing structures,
such as stair railings, without the limitations and high cost of hot glass bending.
It too can be cut to fit on site by a tradesman with a diamond blade equipped
power saw. CBST can also be used in molds for mass production of curved glass.
Cold Bent Shattered Glass Applications:
- bases (for board room tables or dining room tables)
- coffee tables and end tables
- display units,
- light fixtures and free form art installations
- table lamp in photo to the right
- The Cold bent shattered tempered glass process has been used successfully in furniture and commercial applications since 1995 with no product failure to date in those installations.
- The Cold Bent Shattered Glass application was also used in an eighteen foot high waterfall installation in a shopping mall with great success.
