Flat Shattered Tempered Glass:
Two Lite Laminates : The traditional process uses three lites of glass. The centre lite is shattered between two whole lites. This process results in a heavy product that is difficult to stabilize, and maintain product integrity in large sizes.
Silas’ method uses two lites. One of which can be shattered; or both lites can be shattered to provide a material that can then be hand cut by a diamond bladed power saw by a tradesman on site.
Multiple layer laminates : Different widths of lites can be laminated together with a shattered lite for esthetics. Several types of safety glass or security materials such as bullet proof sheets of glass or wire core sheets of glass can also be incorporated into this lamination process. When safety products are laminated with a shattered glass layer a strong but esthetically beautiful product is achieved.
